Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank-you to all of our families for the support you have given us through the transition to Stage 4 Restrictions. It has been even more challenging updating new procedures, polices and safety plans. I know that it has placed extra stress on many families but it is pleasing that the students continue to work diligently, attending their Google Meets and submitting their work. They are a credit to you all.

Congratulations to all of our Prep Students for completing 100 Days of School. We hope that you enjoy all of the celebrations throughout the week.

Wellbeing Week

This week I have allocated as Staff Wellbeing Week. We are having no Staff Meetings or Professional Learning Meetings. We have also set aside Wednesday as a 'Whole School Community Wellbeing Day'. We are encouraging all students to have a technology free day and focus instead, on completing a variety of wellbeing tasks as suggested by their teachers.

There will be NO Google Meets on

Wednesday.

Google Meets

Just a reminder that it is an expectation that all students attend their Google Meets daily with their class teachers and any Google Meets with other staff for focus group workshops. Parents please email the class teacher if they cannot attend for any reason.

Fun Fridays

Our Fun Fridays are a huge success and certainly add to enjoyment of the day. Monica loved dressing in her bright colours and I really enjoyed coming to work in my pyjamas on Friday. This week with 'Bring your Pet to School Day' it will be great to meet your pets online or you can dress up as an animal for the day.

Spoonville at St John's

You may have noticed a growing community of spoons at St John's. The painted wooden spoons are a symbol of support, joy, love and happiness. We hope that you take the time to decorate your own spoon and bring them down to join the Spoonville gang at St John's.

Virtual Tour of St John's

We have added a 360 degree Virtual Tour of our school to the website. Take a look!

Please make a referral to a friend or neighbour about joining us here at St John's in Mitcham for 2020 - 'A Welcoming Community Leading the Future of Learning With Faith and Love.'

Outreach

Everyone is experiencing a variety of challenges in the current lock down. Please let me know if you are in need of any extra support. I have a freezer full of home cooked meals that I would love to share.

Stay Safe!
