"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed no hope at all."

It only seems like yesterday that Term Four began. Yet here we are finishing Week 3, the HSC is nearing completion and students in Years 7 -11 are engaged in their learning and preparing for the final assessments for the year. Although we are nearing the end of the school year, the pace of life continues to be very busy. I know this to be the case for many of you as well.
Parent teacher interviews have been conducted over the last two weeks. These occasions in particular provide wonderful opportunities for engagement and to plot those next important steps for your daughter's development and pathway to success. Thank you to all those who participated. I hope there were some rich and rewarding conversations with regard to how your daughter(s) has been approaching and engaging with their learning.
I am exceptionally proud of our HSC students and as a community, may we keep them in our thoughts and prayers.. Our girls have been amazing in their calm approach and as they enter the final days of examination we continue to wish them every success. We remain incredibly proud of what they have achieved to this point and what they are doing now. But I think it important that I say each of our girls deserves to be justifiably proud of themselves - of what they have achieved and the efforts they have expended in arriving at this point. Please continue to support them and enable their potential to shine through, as they finalise their secondary commitments.
As a College we are supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation as the nominated House Charity for Delany House. Our Delany House Captains have been extremely busy promoting awareness of their chosen charity and this fundamentally important societal issue.
With the National Breast Cancer Foundation as a focus for October, 'Brigidine Goes Pink' on Friday 28 October. This day will be an out-of-uniform day (mufti-day) for a gold coin donation for all students and we encourage everyone to wear pink . Also on this day, the College will also be hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast commencing at 8.00am in Synan Hall. All parents are invited. If you haven't already done so, please RSVP via the College email: info@bcrandwick.catholic.edu.au Should you wish to donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, for which your support is greatly encouraged and appreciated, the College has set-up a donation page. Let's help Delany House reach their target in support of this amazing charity.
An evening with Dr Justin Coulson
On Wednesday 9 November 2022, the Network Combined Secondary Colleges (brigidine College, OLSH Kensington, Marcellin College and Champagnat Catholic College) will be hosting "An Evening with Dr Justin Coulson", a renowned child psychologist and someone who we have supported in the past. All parents are invited to this evening, during which Dr Coulson will speak about the teenage brain and, specifically, on "Sex, Consent and Staying Safe". This remains an important societal topic and one we need to ensure all our girls are comfortable with.
This is, however, an adult only evening - one where Dr Coulson wishes to speak directly with parents and hear of your concerns, and to answer questions you may have.
I ask that, should you be able to attend, you RSVP through the attached link below:

School of Rock Musical
Congratulations to our students involved with The School of Rock musical, which was held last week. For this significant theatrical production, the College was represented by Year 7 students: Freya Lenartic, Charlotte Guillermo, Zara Kieran, and Taylor Conquest; and from Year 9: Poppy Hogan and Zoe Delavande Vasconcelos.
On behalf of the College and Community, I congratulate all girls involved with this musical. Their involvement and their performance highlights the incredible talent we have at Brigidine College. We are again proud of their efforts.
Recent College Success Stories
Congratulations to Sophie Hammann - winner of The Circle Awards for her Design & Technology Major Project. Sophie's success highlights, as well, the comprehensive skills that many of our girls possess. To be creative and innovative in the Design & Technology field requires creative thinking and an enquiring mind. We congratulate Sophie on her success.
Congratulations to Rosie Tsaccounis and Gisele Klotz for being nominated for Callbacks for their HSC Dance. Callbacks is the annual showcase of exemplary Dance performances and compositions by HSC students. Again, this is an incredible achievement and reflects their highly professional and dedicated approach to their craft. We congratulate Rosie and Gisele on their nomination.
I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
God Bless.
