Be strong and courageous.

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,

for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Year 12 Retreat

Be Strong and Courageous.

(Joshua 1:9)

Across Weeks 8 and 9, I was fortunate to spend six days with our graduating cohort as they attended their final retreat at Brigidine. The theme centred around Courage, unpacking its biblical foundations, the everyday domains and the neuroscience of fear. They reflected on their time at Brigidine and the need to cultivate a courageous heart as they step out into the unknown.

I thank the girls for their incredible spirit and willingness to be vulnerable and open during their three days away. The students were witness to the retreat theme ‘Be Strong and Courageous', evidenced in their courage to step out of the familiar and into the unknown, their care for those around them and want to spend time with those who may not have known as well.

This invaluable experience could not happen without an incredible team of teachers who valued the opportunity and the importance of the Year 12 Retreat.

Graduation Mass

On Wednesday, 21 September, following our Graduation Assembly & Ceremony, we gathered as a community of deep faith for our eucharistic celebration in honour of our graduating cohort.

During mass, our graduating class received two significant symbols of our faith:

  • Angel Pin - Angels are messengers of God and a constant reminder of the hope and guidance that comes from God.
  • Candle - Light is one of Christianity's most sacred and enduring elements; a rich symbol of our faith. This light is entrusted to our Year 12 students; may they continue to be beacons of light, hope and truth.

For six years, Year 12 has been immersed in the Charism of St Brigid. We call on St Brigid to continue to guide them as they begin their journey outside of Brigidine. May they be inspired by the example of St Brigid and be people of compassion, courage, hope, hospitality, justice and service in their daily lives.

Year 8 &10 Archdiocesan RE Test

Term 4, Week 2:

Wednesday 19 October (Period 1)

The Archdiocesan Religious Education Test is conducted annually for all students in Years 8 and 10 across Sydney Catholic Schools.

The test gauges student knowledge across the five strands taught in their respective Stages. Preparation for this test commenced early last term.  For further understanding of the requirements of this test, I have linked the presentation shown to students at the start of Term 3.

In December, at our Presentation Day Ceremonies, we recognise outstanding student achievement in the Archdiocesan test, celebrating students who achieve a High Distinction and place in the top 10% of all candidates across the state.

Further information regarding the test will be sent to parents and guardians at the commencement of Term 4.

Have a wonderful term break,
