Intensive English Language Program
We are so proud to welcome our IELC students into Clovelly Park Primary School this term! We started with a single classroom but expanded into two classrooms in Week 5 for students from many different cultural backgrounds. This term we have been focusing on their social skills, building self-confidence and enhancing their phonological awareness.
In the pictures below, the students are learning about the new sound /h/ and exploring new words.
We have been also learning about My Family, and incorporated this learning using Art.
In the pictures below, students from R3 made popsicle art showing their family members.
The learning walls in the IELC classroom display story book sequences to engage students with the character and events in the story. The pictures below are the student’s visual display of the most liked book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” written by Eric Carle and the ‘Where is the green sheep? written by Mem Fox. These beautiful sheep masks were made by our lovely students for their book week parade.
