Athletics Carnival

The Maroondah/Manningham and Yarra Division Athletics Carnival was held in Week 1 (6/10). After a super successful Districts Carnival, 16 students competed in the track, field and relay events. Once again our students did a fantastic job competing again students across the different divisions. As students move though each carnival the level of competition and abilities rise and each student needs to be at their best to progress to the next level. All our students who competed on the day should be very proud of their efforts and I encourage them to reflect on the day and share their experience with their peers.

Congratulations to the following students for making it through to Region;

Asher Berka - 1st shot put

Isaac Ladd - 1st Discus 1st High jump

Lenny Clarke - 2nd 80m Hurdles

Prep Grandparent's Concert

The Preps were host to their grandparents and special friends last Tuesday. With the help of Mrs Knoll, Bu Rumble and Mrs Waddell they performed two songs 'I Lava You' and 'Di Tanah Pertanian (Happy Farm)', and presented a beautiful grandparent portrait. Thank you to the Grade 6s who came to support their buddy by playing ukulele! We also had a picnic in the lovely sunshine in the afternoon. Enjoy!

Choir

Last Monday,  Junior and Senior Choir performed during lunch time as students filled the deck area to enjoy the songs in the sunshine. Choir members have given up numerous lunch times to rehearse and should be very proud of their efforts. Junior Choir students also overcame nerves to perform at assembly in the first week of this term, with Senior Choir performing at assembly this coming Friday. A big thank you to Mr Somerville for playing piano accompaniment!

Jenson Myers 3P

Jenson was chosen by his dance company, Street Dance Studio, to join a select group of dancers who train intensively to perform at events and festivals. He performed on the main stage at the Melbourne Royal Show and at the NBL1 south grand final.

He will also be performing: -

Saturday 22nd October at Warranwood Primary Spring Festival-

Sunday 23rd October at Whitehorse Spring Festival and at the Kilsyth Festival-

Sunday 6th November at Maroondah Festival -

Saturday 10th December at WNBL Southside Flyers game at the State Basketball Centre

If any of our school community are attending any of these events, it would be wonderful if they could keep an eye out for Jenson and his dance group to cheer them on!
