Prep, Year 1 and Year 2
There has been plenty to be excited about this week. With swimming and the arrival of our chick eggs the corridors have been buzzing with excitement! We welcomed seven gorgeous little fluffy friends this week as part of our Inquiry learning this term.
Here are some wonderings and some connections the student's made when we met the chicks...
Billie: ''My nanna has baby chicks. She had one that grew bigger.''
Mia: ''I went to a farm and there were baby chicks. They sometimes use their claws to protect themselves when they are scared.''
Tazlyn: ''I have held a chick before, it went on my hand. I think the yellow chicks are the girls and the coloured chicks are boys.''
Kushi: "Is the eldest chick the one that hatches first?"
William: "They are warming up."
Connor: ''Maybe they come together to be warm.''
Eklavya: ''Why are some yellow and some brown?"
Azariah: "We should call one of the yellow ones Popcorn!"

What a great week it has been for our Year 4 students who have thoroughly enjoyed our swimming lessons. From the looks on all the children's faces, everyone has had a great time learning new and invaluable skills in the water! If you don't believe me, then check out Roery's recount!
My Swimming Day At Elite Swimming School, Coburg: Day 1
By Roery Villegas
Yesterday, Marty, Marie, the year 3 / 4’s and I went to Elite Swimming School in Coburg to go swimming! I was so excited to go swimming with the Year 3 / 4’s! So we all got on the bus. While the bus was moving, my friend Jasmine sat beside me. After the fifteen minute ride, we got off one by one and went inside the building. When we were inside, we put on our swim suits and dived into the water. When we were in the pool, our swimming teacher asked us our names and told us the rules. During the swimming lesson, I was splashing a lot in the pool. Splash! Splash! Splash! goes the water in the pool. ‘Yay!’ I said ‘This is the best day ever!’ ‘Whoa calm down dude,’ says our swimming teacher. ‘Relax, Roery, Relax.’ So before we could change back to our school uniform, we did big jumps in the deep end. Ka-splash! Goes the divers as they dive into the water. Then, it was my turn, my heart was beating fast, I could see Marty waiting for me to jump. I jumped and… KASPLASH! Everyone was silent and then they hugged me. So, we all went to the changing rooms and got on the bus just in time. But on the way back to school, I sat with no one (This is Quazy dude!) My favourite part was when Marty liked my jump.
Year 5/6
