Message from the Principal

St Anthony’s Parish and St Anthony’s School hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as central and fundamental responsibilities of the Church.

St Anthony’s is fully compliant with all policies in relation to Child Safety. These documents ensure compliance with the Victorian Government Child Safety Standards which took effect on 1 January 2017 and reflect our Parish's ongoing commitment to ensuring that all children are safe, happy and empowered.

Hello Families and Friends of St Anthony's,

What an exciting two weeks at St Anthony's Primary School! We have been so lucky to share some great events including the Prep 2023 Information Evening, the Greater Dandenong Interfaith gathering in Dandenong and our Bible and PJ night as well as celebrate success of our students, staff and community.

Government House Visit

On Monday this week Mrs Debbie, Lisa and myself accompanied a small group of St Anthony's parents and parents from two primary schools in Dandenong to Government House for the Peace and Prosperity Garden Project. We were very fortunate to have a tour of Government House and to meet Mr Anthony Howard, the Governor of Victoria's husband.

Victorian Multiculturalism  Awards for Excellence

On Tuesday evening Ms Debbie and I visited Government House again. This time it was for the awards ceremony for the Victorian Multiculturalism Awards for Excellence. I am so pleased to announce that St Anthony's Primary School Playgroup received a Highly Commended award for Early Childhood Education.  I am extremely proud of the amazing work Debbie does at our very popular playgroup. It is so popular that last Thursday over 60 parents and children attended.  I congratulate Ms Debbie for earning such a prestigious  award!

Bible and PJ Night

On Tuesday evening our Prep to Year 2 families gathered at school for Bible and PJ night. It was so wonderful to see families working together on the different activities. Our beautiful prayer space was created to help us remember to be good disciples of faith. I thank all staff who assisted on the evening and a big thank you to Miss Webb for all of her organisation.

Year 6 Boys Basketball Team

On Thursday our Year 6 Boys Basketball team competed in the Greater Dandenong District basketball finals. The boys played extremely well, displayed great teamwork and won the grand final which means that they are now the district premiers. I congratulate all players and thank Mr Harisiou, Ms Fisher and Josh for preparing and supporting the team to victory!

Have a fabulous long weekend. We look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday.
