Principal's Report

We're nearly there!

Only one week left of school for the term. It is apparent many of us are now in lock down fatigue and our eyes and spirits may be a little worse for wear. Next week I ask families to simply do what you can. There will be no learning set for Wednesday as the teachers will be planning for Term 4.

It's been a tough term for many beyond remote learning. I thank you all for putting in your best efforts and your ongoing communication with the teachers and leadership. Our teachers have also done an incredible job. I'm sure we're all looking forward to the break and getting off screens for a while. I know I am.

We look forward to our F-2 students returning on Monday October 12. Our Years 3-6 will continue with Remote Learning until otherwise announced.

I'm waiting on the updated Operational Guide and once received will share all the relevant information with you.

Teacher Planning Day - Wednesday 16 September

Do What You Love for the Day!

This is a whole school teacher planning day on Wednesday 16 September. Last term we held a Well-being Day. This term we would love for all the students to join in Do What You Love for the Day! There will be no work set and students can choose to do one or more things they love to do for the day.

Some ideas: Build a Lego masterpiece, read a new book or two, arts and crafts, exercising, construction, teddy bear's picnic, watching your favourite movie, connecting with your friends online, making a costume, doing a tricky jigsaw puzzle.

Students attending onsite learning should bring in some games/toys etc that they enjoy playing. Please do not send bikes. scooters or skateboards.

Mums and Dads, take a breather for the day - you deserve it.

School Nursing Program - for our Foundation families

Michelle Chappell, a visiting primary school nurse from the Department of Education and Training was planning to attend our school in Term 3. The purpose of this visit was to provide children in their first year of primary school with the opportunity to have an individualised health assessment, to link children & families to health services within the community and to provide information and advice that promotes health and wellbeing.

Your child’s health assessments are based on the information provided within the Student Entrant Health Questionnaire, and you may recall receiving this Questionnaire in term 2.  Thank you to all families who have returned the School Entrant Health Questionnaire for your child.  These questionnaires have been received by Michelle and she is currently in the process of reading these.

However, due to remote learning conditions currently in place, Michelle is unable to perform face to face assessments as planned. During this time, Michelle may contact families who have raised concerns in the questionnaire, and may do so by phone, email or text, using the information you have provided in the Questionnaire.  Where it has been agreed that information will be sent to you, Michelle may ask you to confirm your email or postal address to ensure the secure delivery of your information.

You are invited to contact Michelle, the visiting primary school nurse if there are any issues that you wish to discuss. Her contact number is 0412161467.

Prep 2021 Enrolments

Planning has commenced for 2021. Thank you to all our families who have put in their enrolments for their Foundation 2021 child. As student numbers play such an important role in funding and planning, I ask you to please enrol your child as soon as possible.

Ruby is taking up the 10 000 Steps a Day for 28 Days Challenge

Ruby is currently in Grade 5 and has cerebral palsy. Apart from working on her schooling, Ruby has experienced a life of occupational therapy, speech sessions, doctors appointments and medical procedures. Despite all of this, Ruby always has a smile on her face and now wants to give back to others with cerebral palsy.

Ruby is taking up the 10 000 Steps a Day for 28 Days Challenge to raise money for adaptive toys and equipment for children and adults suffering with CP. All funds raised will go to the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Foundation.
