Grade 2/3

End of Term!

Finally here, the end of a long Term that will be in our memories for a while. Cass, Jose, Isabelle and Bronia (and Pepe) are very proud of the work that students and families have put towards ensuring quality of work and progress. Students should be proud of themselves as they have shown not only the school values during Remote Learning 2.0, but also resilience, tenacity, persistence and commitment.

We take this opportunity as well to thank all parents, carers and everyone involved for all your help and commitment, we could not have done it without your support.

This week students have been exploring their creativity, making very creative spoon people to add to Spoonville.  On Thursday we shared their model of their made up country and on Friday we had a fun games day to wrap up the Term!

We wish you a very relaxing, well deserved and happy holidays!  We can't wait to see you again face to face on the 12th October!

What happened with...

The Murnong Plants! The bulbine lillies and Murnong are both now in full flower, we are so glad to have Nina looking after them and making them grow and flower.

Ana Manz! What happened with Ana Manz? Some of the students have been asking about her on Seesaw, is she coming out? Is it mold around her? How long has she been there?

Spoonville

As a way to connect to the community, we have created our own Newlands Spoonville Village.  Students across all of the school have shown Creativity by creating their spoon characters.  Spoonville was originally created in England and rapidly spread around the world as way to bring enjoyment and happiness to all communities during lockdown. Make sure to add your spoon!

Inquiry

The 23 students have been working very hard at home over the past few weeks to design their own country. In Inquiry, we have been learning about the geography, history and cultures of Australia, our neighbouring countries surrounding us as well as taking a virtual trip to Italy, India and Mexico. Over the term students explored what a country needs to have and used this understanding to make their own! Feast your eyes on some of the 23 nations below.
