Foundation/1

Kazoo fun! 2020 Victorian Seniors Festival.

We are excited to announce that we, the F/1 team have joined forces with the Moreland City Council to participate in the Victorian Seniors Festival.  The goal is to form a Kazoo choir to perform remotely during the festival. The song chosen is “I’ve got rhythm” George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin.  Each student at F/1 will be provided with a Kazoo and we will practice and perform the song during the first week back at school (onsite).   Permission forms will be sent to families first week back after the holidays.

Spoonville

As a way to connect to the community, we have created our own Newlands Spoonville Village.  Students across all of the school have shown Creativity by creating their spoon characters.  Spoonville was originally created in England and rapidly spread around the world as way to bring enjoyment and happiness to all communities during lockdown. If you have not had the chance to do it, no worries you can still do it over the holidays.

Last Week of Term.

We are all sure that Term 3 will be a term to remember for a long time. Mark, Luisa, Jess, Angelica and Sergio are so proud of all our students for the hard work, the commitment and the resilience they have shown during this time.  One of our highlights of Remote Learning has been coming to morning check ins and seeing students always with a smile and something to share.  We take this opportunity as well to thank all parents and carers for all your help and commitment, we could not have done it without your support.

This week students have been exploring their imagination and creativity, making wonderful settings and creating puppets and their own stories.  On Friday we had a little end of term celebration, students and teachers dressed up as their favourite character or footy club.

We wish you a very relaxing and happy holidays!  We can't wait to see you again face to face on the 12th October!
