Over the past two weeks representatives from two Universities have spoken to interested students, in Years 10-12, during lunchtime. These visits have been very informative and encouraged an atmosphere of open discussion between our students and the University. In the coming week The University of Melbourne will be delivering an online presentation.

 VET Delivered to Secondary Students courses are extremely competitive, therefore it is recommended you provide as much evidence as possible to support your application. These documents must be uploaded when applying through our online application system. 

 

To complete the application, you will need

  • Western Australian Student number (WASN). This can be found on your school report or speak with your school’s VET Coordinator;
  • Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. If you have not already created an USI then you will need to visit this website first www.usi.gov.au/your-usi/create-usi  ;
  • Year 9 & 10 school reports in an electronic format i.e. PDF (‘C’ grade or above in Mathematics and English is preferred but all applications will be considered);
  • OLNA (Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment) Report (if applicable);
  • Parent/guardian email address and mobile phone number;
  • Resume, references and any certificates which will help support your application; and
  • A Student Statement outlining why you should be selected to participate in the course (please note there is a limit of 255 characters that can be entered in this section).

When selecting your course you will need to select your campus first. It is important that you can travel with ease to and from that campus (you may find this website useful) www.transperth.wa.gov.au   

 

Once you commence your application, you can save your changes if you need to exit and return at a later time. You will be emailed a link to your saved application which you can only access from the email address entered at the time you save and exit.

We are pleased to announce some recent changes to our online application portal which will streamline the application process. The portal is now live on our website.

Early Offer Program

 

The Early Offer Program for 2021 has now closed, but Year 12 students can still apply direct for Semester 1, 2021. Offers will continue to be made on a rolling basis in the coming weeks. Students who do not receive an Early Offer will be automatically considered for future offer rounds.

UniPrep Accelerate

This is our brand new program for school leavers with a near-miss ATAR. 

UniPrep Accelerate is an intensive and challenging version of ECU’s successful university preparation program 

 

UniPrep

This 4-week university preparation course will run in January on our Joondalup Campus. 

On successful completion, students will be able to start uni in Semester 1 with everyone else. 

 

If students expect an ATAR between 55 -69, they can apply now via our Online Admissions system.

UniPrep Summer

Our UniPrep Summer program is now available for school leavers. 

 

The program is for people who are likely to attain an ATAR of below 55 or won't attain an ATAR at all. 

 

It's held at Joondalup and South West campuses from 30 November until 29 January, with a two-week break over the Christmas period. 

 

On successful completion, students start uni in time for Semester 1. Students can apply for UniPrep Summer now via our Online Admissions system.

 

Special consideration will be given to 2020 Year 12 cohorts to allow you to apply for UniPrep Summer based on your first semester Year 12 results.

CURTIN UNIVERSITY

Our team is now taking bookings for all face-to-face events, including on-campus experiences. Upon receiving your booking request, we will send through relevant COVID-19 event requirements. After updating our resources for year 10, 11 and 12 students, we have now also updated our info for career advisors and teachers. We welcome any feedback you have about them. 

 

Year 12 Applications  

3-step TISC application process  

Applications to Curtin University are submitted through TISC. View the TISC important dates page for key deadlines.  

 

Step 1. Students submit their application through TISC.  

Step 2. Our admissions team sends year 12s a personalised email with the outcome of their application and advice on the next step.  

Step 3. Students will be advised to:  

a) accept their conditional offer  

b) wait to receive their end-of-year results before receiving an offer (competitive courses)  

 

OR  

c) submit a portfolio to support their application.

Year 12 portfolio applicants  

Students submitting a portfolio are still required to apply through TISC and input the relevant course portfolio code in their list of preferences, however they need to send their portfolio through to our portfolio admissions team.  

 

The portfolio entry page lists the courses that accept a portfolio and the criteria.  

 

TISC fee reimbursement  

It’s been a tough year for our year 12s, which is why we’re refunding the TISC application fee. Year 12s who apply to TISC before 1 October with Curtin as their first preference and receive and accept an offer from us will have their application fee refunded.  

 

Excellence Scholarships 

The Curtin Excellence Scholarships for 2021 are open. Formal applications are not required - students apply simply by selecting an eligible Curtin course through TISC as their first preference. 

  

 

Curtin Principal’s Recommendation Award 

The Curtin Principal’s Recommendation Award will open for applications from 14 August. Learn more and nominate one of your students
