LEARNING DASH SUCCESS

The Learning Dashes Project aims to deliver intensive 1:1 reading instruction on a daily basis for a period of up to five weeks. During this time, children engaged in the program will have the opportunity to enhance their skills as a balanced reader which will ultimately lead to intensive growth with reading.

Reading includes a variety of skills including de-coding, fluency and phrasing and comprehension.  All aspects of being a balanced reader must be evidenced across a wide variety of text types.

Congratulations to our Year 3 students who have made some very pleasing growth during their reading with Mrs Gwalter:

Makenzie M, Tiannah S, Reef F, Kaleb E, Jedd S and Braxton H (with Mrs Gwalter)

YEAR 4 INQUIRY GROUP EXPO

On Wednesday, Year 4 students hosted an expo on the geography and sustainability of the Sichuan region of China. Mrs Madden, our teacher librarian, has been working closely with the students to support them in creating their poster presentations. In preparing for their expo, the students have built their research, note-taking and organisation skills, and enhanced their general knowledge of geography and sustainability.
