Halloween Fun at the College

As you can see from the photos above our Halloween-themed Sunday pizza night was terrific fun. Even Mr Dowell turned up as “his worst nightmare “ (a student out of uniform, with phone and huge mullet haircut!!!) The students loved it and it was great to see the College decked out to welcome the students back from leave. A BIG thank you to the Residential Supervisors who do such an amazing job at organising events. This weekend we are completing our “Blue Tree project” and getting our Christmas lights organised in time for our Christmas events before our Year 11’s leave us. Next Wednesday 17th December 2021 Staff and Students will face each other in a basketball play-off followed by Christmas dinner

It can be difficult to motivate the students at times and I know that despite the best of planning many times the activities and events we organise are not fully utilised by our boarders. It may be the time of year but golf, movies, paintball have all been passed over recently by the students. We will continue to offer activities and events each weekend to ensure those students who can’t go home have fun and experience everything boarding life is meant to be.

Well done to Cody Stanfield who recently attended The Australian All Schools Sports representing WA, and a big congratulations as he won the Under 18’s 400m hurdles in a personal best time!

Can I please remind all students that it is imperative that they use the safes in their rooms to lock away personal items. The College really cares that everyone’s personal belongings are safe but is unable to take responsibility. This includes phones that should not be going to class unless a teacher has requested via writing to us.

The College appreciates the effort that the students and their parents are taking in ensuring all students are in correct uniform. Correct uniform enhances our school pride and ensures the students understand that uniforms are often part of professionalism in the workplace. The laundry procedure will be tightened next year and that coupled with students names on their hi-vis we are truly hoping that uniforms stay with their rightful owners.

The Student Council has been so impressive: The leavers jumpers are ready for students to vote on a choice of two designs. The Containers for Change have been placed in the dorms and the planning for welcoming and mentoring the Year 11’s next year is really coming along. They are also playing important roles during the Year 12s Valedictory tomorrow.

Well done to the Year 12’s, it is now time to celebrate your hard work and from all of the Residential, Kitchen and Domestic staff we wish you all the best for your future endeavours.
