Seeking School Based Apprenticeships for 2022!

Our Year 11 VCAL students are currently seeking employers who are interested in taking on a student for a School Based Apprenticeships in 2022 in the below industries: 

 

Plumbing: 1

Building and Construction: 4

Electrical: 6

Automotive: 1 

 

School Based Apprenticeships (SBAT’s) are a great way for employers to grow their business with government incentives and support. Transgender Awareness Week

Last week (13-19 November) was Transgender Awareness Week. This week is when transgender people and their allies take action to bring attention to the community by educating the public about who transgender people are, sharing stories and experiences, and advancing advocacy around the issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community.

Active Kids Voucher

Support for your kids to get active

Does your child love sport and being active? Does your family have a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card? You may be eligible for up to $200 to put towards the cost of your child’s participation in physical activities.

 

As children return to sport over the coming months, the Get Active Kids Voucher Program helps eligible families get their kids involved in organised sport and active recreation activities. 

 

Under the program, children may be eligible to receive up to $200 to help with the cost of membership and registration fees, uniforms, and equipment.  The program also provides a special consideration stream to support children residing in care services as well as temporary or provisional visa holders, undocumented migrants or international students.

 

Applications for vouchers in round three of the program close at 5pm, Tuesday 30 November.

Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club 21/22 Nipper Program has commenced in October and once again, they would like to extend an invitation to the students at our school to participate.

 

This year Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club welcomes the STARFISH NIPPER PROGRAM, this program runs alongside the Nippers Summer Holiday program providing an opportunity for primary, secondary and young adults with disabilities to participate in surf life saving activities with dedicated fully qualified instructors.

Youth Disability Advocacy Service (YDAS)

Youth Disability Advocacy Service (YDAS) are looking for writers, artists, and other creatives to make content for disabled young people. This opportunity is for young Victorians, aged 12 to 25 years old, who identify as:

  • having a disability, health condition or chronic illness.
  • neuro diverse or autistic.
  • deaf or hard of hearing.
  • blind or vision impaired.
  • having lived experience of mental health issues.
