Awards and Activities
With events, excursions and activities back on again, we have had a busy last few weeks of term. A big thank you to all our parent helpers and staff involved for enabling these events to go ahead.
Grade 4 students have had a busy few weeks. Those who received awards during our online lockdown assemblies, received their printed certificates in a recent assembly. Well done to all of you! They also participated in Bike Ed. With so many of our students riding in the neighbourhood, this is an important program. Students were taught a range of signalling and cycling rules to keep them safe.
Our Grade 5 and 6 students recently participated in Life Saving education at the beach. This covered a number of activities both beach and water based, including: Personal Safety and Environmental Awareness• Checking the environment for hazards, being sun smart. Water Awareness• Surf Swimming Skills. Survival Skills• Board paddling skills, surf survival skills. Rescue Skills• Essential parts of a rescue, patient recognition, calling for assistance. Beach Skills• Beach flags, sprinting, relays.
Our preps enjoyed their extended day. They learnt a range of circus skills and fun, physical activities.
Grade 1 students also enjoyed an extended day with activities including the giant parachute, hip hop dancing and fitness games, followed by pizza!
