Dear Parents/Guardians
Winter Sports
Well done to all the students who competed in winter sports at Kelly Park and Wodonga last week. The students made the school proud with their effort, sportspersonship, and behaviour. Each team came away with several wins and all students went home with a smile.
Professional Development
Last Thursday and Friday Markeeta and Trish spent two days working with Selina Fisk and the CES to further develop knowledge around this data to improve student learning. We look forward to learning more about this as a staff and using this to improve our teaching and learning.
Playground Works
The work on the playground is progressing. Kerin Rowbottom (our new groundsman) has been working hard to clear the site in preparation for the new playground to be installed in week 5.
Parent Code of Conduct
This School Code of Conduct ensures clarity about the behavioural standards that parents and staff can reasonably expect of each other. It is our intention that with this Code of Conduct, we will continue to promote and advance respectful, cooperative, and supportive relationships between parents/carers/guardians, and staff.
This process is supported by our deep commitment to human life being sacred and to the dignity of the human person at all times being honoured and respected. The implementation of this Code of Conduct will contribute to the ongoing development of our school as a healthy, safe, and hope-filled community.
This Parent/Carers/Guardian-School Code of Conduct is one violence prevention strategy in promoting a shared understanding and commitment of all in the promotion of the school as a safe workplace for our staff and students. We are here to support you and your children. We expect that everyone will act and speak respectfully, listen, and work together to resolve issues of concern and or problems as they arise.
Please see attached a copy of the Code of Conduct (which is endorsed by Catholic Education Sandhurst) for your reference.
Upcoming Trivia Night - 26th August 2023
Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop
Tuesday 8th August is the Feast of St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop. She is Australia's first Saint because of the work she did during her lifetime, helping anyone in need and providing free education for disadvantaged children.
To celebrate her Feast Day we will be celebrating Mass at 9:30 am in St. Joseph's Church followed by Morning Tea afterwards. Please feel free to come along. The children of the Brigid and Mary Group will provide refreshments and hospitality.
For any enquiries please see Linda or Irene.
Dental Health Visit
On Monday your child was handed out a School Initiative Dental Health Visit form. Please have these completed and returned to the school no later than Monday 24th July 2023.
Foundation Children
On Monday, your child was handed a School Entrant Health Questionnaire which must be returned as soon as possible.
The Victorian Primary School Nursing Program is a free health assessment service offered by the Department of Education and Training to all children in their first year of primary school. They will provide an assessment of any concerns you may have regarding your child's health, well-being, and development, advice and information about your child's health, and referral to other services if needed, and advice, information, and support for families and school communities to promote the health and wellbeing of children and families
The nurse will be visiting the school to assess all foundation children that have returned the School Entrant Health Questionnaire (SEHQ).
If you do not want your child seen, please mark NO on page 5 and returned to the school.
