From the Principal Team

Our Sustainability Champions

After a spectacular Sustainability Dress Up Day, which raised $536.75 towards the restoration of our chicken coop, we continued our commitment by hosting teachers from other schools to reflect and compare Sustainability initiatives in school settings. Four of our Year 5 students, Hannah, Helena, Emmie, Sophie and Mia, impressed with their presentation. We thank them and Lauren Cooper for hosting this event.

Parent Payments

We have received payments from 49% of our families which indicates a slow increase in responses. Thank you everyone for your attention to these payments.

We politely request that parents support our Parent Payments where possible so that we can continue to provide the broadest possible range of resources for your child and our entire school. Whilst we appreciate the funds received from the Department which provide support for the core Victorian Curriculum, Parent Payments enable your child's learning to be further enriched via our strong local programs.

School Council appreciates your attention to these payments. Payment options are Qkr, BPAY and Credit Card. We wish to reassure you that personal payment arrangements can be accommodated by contacting Cath Lamb, Business Manager.

SEMESTER 1 REPORTS

Ahead of Semester 1 Reports being made available to parents next week, Bron and I have been reading each student's report and enjoying learning of their individual successes. It is so pleasing to acknowledge how well our teachers know their students and I thank them for the time and care they have put into conveying their assessments to you. We also look forward to discussing the reports with you at our Parent-Teacher Conferences in the second week of Term 2. Booking for the conferences will become available to you on the first day of Term 2

SCHOOL LUNCHES FROM TERM  3

We are very pleased to announce that Classroom Cuisine has been appointed to provide school lunches to Beaumaris Primary on Wednesdays and Fridays commencing in the first week of Term 3.

The canteen selection panel were impressed by Classroom Cuisine. Whilst not an onsite provider their reputation, communication and organisational processes, and healthy eating options were impressive. Our school captains also joined the panel and gave them a thumbs up.

We understand how important it is for you to have the option of being able to have such a service and thank you for your patience as we navigated the process. Whilst we trial Classroom Cuisine for the rest of this year, we will consider options for 2024.  Details of their menu, pricing and ordering platforms will become available next week.  I wish to thank the selection panel, who were school council members, for the many hours they have put into this.

THE PAVILION

We are pleased that as of Monday all classes are back in the Pavilion. Whilst further works are in progress to remedy the cause of the flooding, we don't anticipate further interruptions and thank students and staff for their flexibility and understanding.

PARENT EVENTS in TERM 3

We so appreciate everyone who came to the "Our Community Our Future" presentations and value the positive feedback. Next term we will be inviting parents and carers to engage with your children's learning through a variety of opportunities, both during school time and in an evening forum. These events will be marked on our Term 3 calendar which will be distributed at the end of next week.
