Congratulations to all the Year 6 Confirmation Candidates who made their Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday at St Peter's College Hall. It was a wonderful ceremony as the candidates acknowledged all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their lives, receiving the laying on of hands and oil of chrism from the bishop.. We are very proud of the students and thank Bishop Greg Bennet, Fr Peter, Fr Paul and all the Sisters for their support. Thank you to all the families for your fantastic support of the program and being there for your children as they become young adults, making connections between Baptism and Confirmation. The real journey begins now as they use the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated in Term 3 for students in Year 4 or above who have been baptised and received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please note the dates below for the program and sacrament dates.

Routines are one of the foundations of support for all our students. Students require structure in their lives. Routines provide that in all of their life from the time they awake until the time they go to bed. Routines in a school and in the classroom provide the environment for learning to take place.
As part of our Whole School Approach to Behaviour Support the teachers are focusing on effective routines for their classes, especially at the start of the day and after recess and lunchtimes in order to support effective connections to learning. Being on time for school and regular attendance also helps to consolidate good routines.
It's COOL to be at SCHOOL! Please support your children at home with good routines as this really helps them with their attention and emotional regulation at school.

Children and teens will experience events during their lives that will affect them emotionally and physically. How they react to these events depends on their age, personality and past experiences. Children can experience strong feelings of fear, sadness, guilt, anger or grief, making it difficult for them to cope with everyday life.
There are a number of ways that parents and caregivers can support children after a traumatic event. Your reaction to an event will impact your child’s ability to cope and recover. Children will look to the adults in their lives to help them better understand a traumatic event so it is important to ‘tune in’ to their fears and provide them with the comfort and support they need.
In this edition of SchoolTV, parents will learn how to gain a better understanding of trauma and how it affects children of all ages.
We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV and we always welcome your feedback. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the school counsellor for further information or seek medical or professional help.

Term 2 has been a refreshing and creative time in the veggie garden. A number of different year levels have been involved in planting a range of vegetables, herbs and flowers. These have been nurtured by lunchtime garden teams - and guarded by our new scarecrow! We look forward to sharing our harvest of snow peas, broad beans, silverbeet, carrots, celery, garlic, parsley, oregano, coriander and Rosemary later in the year.
