Curriculum Update

Assistant Principal Update

As the semester draws to a close, teachers complete their assessment of student learning via Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) or Learning Tasks (LTs). These assessments make up the bulk of the Semester Reports and share with Parents, Carers and Students the Victorian Curriculum level the student has been able to demonstrate and how they performed in the end of term task that summarized their learning. Teachers and students will have shared and given feedback on these results, but the Semester Reports are a perfect opportunity to sit with your student at home and review their progress together.

The College’s aim is to see every student grow in their skills and abilities, along with positively engaging in the content and lessons to get the most out of their time in classes. Often, we see a correlation with low CARE value ratings and underperformance in class, as effort and engagement truly do support educational outcomes. If there are areas that you have concerns around, we encourage you to discuss these with your student first to learn their perspective, then engage in a dialogue with the classroom teacher or Year Level Leader. The College seeks to work in partnership with families to support the learning and positive outcomes for all.
