Defence Mentor News

What a great first week back we’ve had in our defence club. The students have decided to keep with the hot chocolate bar throughout winter and we’ve been fortunate enough that our wonderful cooks are also providing a slice for afternoon tea; this will continue throughout the term on Thursdays at second break. On Mondays at second break students decided on board games and are enjoying a new edition of a game called Risk

We are excited to start our preparation for Remembrance Day next term. We have been busy putting flyers around town for our Purple Poppy Project and are kindly asking for any donations of purple wool, black buttons, knitting needles and crochet hooks. Our students will use these items during our knitting and crochet lessons every Tuesday at second break in the library. Any donations would be gratefully received and will assist us to run these classes for the students wishing to contribute to the purple poppy project.

Over the next few weeks, I will be visiting the primary class rooms as each student is participating in creating a poppy mosaic wall.
