Faith & Mission Report

Danny Franc

“As Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, we live our faith in the Father’s love revealed in the Heart of Christ. We want to be like Jesus who loved with a human heart; we want to love through him and with him, and to proclaim his love to the world” MSC constitution #10

It is important that all staff at Monivae receive the opportunity to learn about the MSC story to be able to teach and build strong connections with the students in a manner that is consistent with the MSC ethos. It is because of this that our staff are offered Staff Formation through the Chevalier Institute. The Director of Faith and Mission from each of the MSC colleges (myself), and the Director of the Chevalier Institute (Mrs. Anne MacAtomney), make up the Formation team.

Last week, I joined Anne in providing formation for staff new to our college, as well as a specialised program designed for our Learning Support Team. All staff appreciated the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the MSC ethos.

As the term comes to an end, the last day saw both the World’s Greatest Shave event and the Stations of the Cross liturgy take place.

At the time of writing this, our team of 17 brave Year 12 students, and 1 staff member (Mr. Minney), had raised a wonderful $6700 for the World’s Greatest Shave.

Our term finished with a Liturgy looking at the last days of Jesus up until his death.

Both of these events will be mentioned in more depth in the next newsletter.

Upcoming events:

  • Resurrection Liturgy Wednesday April 26th
  • Cadet Camp Liturgy in the Bush Wednesday 3rd May
  • Reconciliation Liturgy Wednesday May 31st

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved.
