Principal's Report

Jonathan Rowe

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we end a very busy term it is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all that we have achieved as a community. Our students have successfully transitioned into the challenges of a new academic year. They continue to embrace the richness of an MSC education through their learning, the relationships they form, the many co-curricular and sporting opportunities provided. I would like to thank our staff whose mission is to draw our students into the pursuit of truth and excellence by fully embracing and engaging with the world in which we live. As an MSC school we recognise that when we create relational, learning communities we contribute to the formation of the hearts of our students.

As the term concludes, we have a number of staff changes. I thank Ms. Jane Shearwood for her contribution to our Indonesian program and wish her well in her new role teaching English. Ms. Shearwood is replaced by Mrs. Viona Towers who commences next term. Also starting Term two is Ms. Lyka Zarate who picks up some Humanities classes and we welcome back Mrs. Catherine Huisman who returns from leave.

What is arguably the biggest event in the school calendar, Year 11 Presentation Ball, was held last Saturday. This year new dance instructors, Trevor and Sarah Ellington, provided a refresh and new approach to the dancing. It is one of the best I have witnessed in many years, and our students appeared more relaxed and joyful throughout the night. I thank Mr. Terry Molan, special guest, for his involvement and the many parents and staff who supported this event.

We remember the Fitzgerald family, Hugh yr 10 and Imogen yr 8, after the recent passing of their beloved grandmother. We keep the family in our thought and prayers.

As people of faith, the Easter story reminds us that we are people of hope. I encourage families to seek the time to reconnect and rebuild relationships as a family. The holidays are a perfect time to take stock and be still with one another.

Easter Prayer

May the glory and the promise of this joyous time of year bring peace and happiness to you and those you hold most dear.

Happy Easter.
