R4

This term you may notice on your child's timetable that there is a new addition to their learning.

We have dedicated 30 minutes, twice a week to implementing lessons related to the Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships, also known as the 'quad R' framework. We will also be using the Parachute resource, developed by the Department of Education, to further deepen with this work.

The Respectful Relationships program supports schools and early childhood settings to promote and model respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.

During these lessons students will partake in teachings around;

  • Turn taking
  • Coping strategies for negative emotions
  • Differentiation of emotions
  • Fear emotions
  • Controlling anger &
  • Acceptance of others

It is important to know that this is part of our curriculum and something that students will be assessed on through the 'Social Capabilities' component in the Victorian Curriculum.
