Staff Responsibilities

Staff Attendance
All staff are to sign in via COMPASS upon arrival and sign out when leaving the College.
Please review the Glenroy Long term Planning document to find information on workforce planning and organisation of teacher work.
Staff Absences
If you are going to be absent from school for a fully day or part of a day, please text or call the Daily Organiser on 0430 178 691 before 7:15 am (or earlier if possible).
It is the staff member's responsibility to enter all absences on Edupay and provide relevant medical information to the Business Manager within three days of returning to work.
Work for your classes should be left on Compass under “Teacher Notes” by 8:30am on the day of the absence. Instructions for students can also be placed under the “Lesson Plan” section on Compass. Any wellbeing or behaviour notes (including seating plans) should be made only under “Teacher Notes”’ and be flagged as Confidential.
Any handout can be left in the shelves in the Daily Organiser’s office.
Staff are eligible to have two consecutive absent days without a medical certificate, however anything more than two consecutive days of absence must be supported with a medical certificate. Any absence that falls on either side of a public holiday must also be supported with a medical certificate. Please speak to the Business Manager if you have any further questions.
Under normal circumstances, teachers are responsible for providing work for their classes during their absence. Work should either be left on the Daily Organiser's desk, or instructions given when phoning through an absence. Work can also be emailed to the Daily Organiser.
Sick Leave and Leave Entitlements
There are several types of leave available for DET staff and each of them have specific qualifications attached to them. Refer to the DET website for up to date details and requirements.
Staff working late / starting early
Staff are generally not permitted to attend the site outside of normal working hours and a check in/check out system operates to ensure staff safety. Staff who have a need to start work before 7.30am or work back at school after 6pm on any day must request prior permission from the Principal and/or Business Manager. Staff without access to a security alarm fob will generally not be granted permission to attend outside of regular hours.
