Engagement and Wellbeing Team

The Engagement and Wellbeing Team is led by the Assistant Principal - Wellbeing, Inclusion and Senior School Engagement. Students may have appointments with Wellbeing team members during class time and these should be advised prior to the class starting. Students should have a note on COMPASS indicating date and time of visit. Teachers are asked to sight and sign the note prior to students leaving the classroom.
Referral Process
The referral process is outlined in the Glenroy College Student Engagement and Wellbeing Handbook. Forms and checklists can accessed through COMPASS . If in doubt, consult with the Assistant Principal - Wellbeing, Inclusion and Senior School Engagement
Student Support
On occasions, support staff may be working with a student who appears or presents as upset or distressed in class. During these times, it is important to reassure the student and encourage them to focus on their work. If they request an unplanned visit to a member of the Engagement and Wellbeing Team during class time, calmly explain that the staff may not be available without an appointment and that they can make an appointment time with that member during lunchtime, recess, or before or after school.
If the matter is more urgent and/or the student is unable to settle in class, it is suggested that the student be directed (or escorted by a reliable student) to the closest or relevant Subschool office for appropriate support. Staff Support Card can also be used if appropriate.
