Sport
The year’s first term of sports has come to close, with notable participation, achievement, and outstanding results in Swimming (QGSSSA, Andrews Cup and Britton Shield), QGSSSA Cricket and QGSSSA Gymnastics. The enthusiasm and dedication carry over into Term 2 where QGSSSA Autumn Fixtures such as Basketball, Football, Touch Football will continue alongside a bustling schedule for students involved in Andrews Cup and Britton Shield sports programmes. Additionally, boys in Years 5-7 remain focussed on their preparation and training for the Term 4 Summer Basketball season and preparation commences for QGSSSA Winter season sport programmes.
Holiday Programmes
While many took a well-deserved rest over the Easter holidays, others were in peak competition or preparation mode. Clayfield College students were competing on the national stage in multiple sports, as well as the running of several camps, clinics and fixtures, and the support of these endeavours is not lost on us or our students. Thank you to the many parents, staff and coaches who enabled these pursuits.
Congratulations is extended to students who competed in the WAG State Championships (Gymnastics), National Age Swimming Championships and National Junior Track and Field Championships.

Communications
With two shorter school weeks in Weeks 2 and 3, we may find it challenging at times to get into routines around training, and sporting commitments.
CC Sport provides a plethora of worthwhile and timely information to help parents and students, through several channels. I thought it timely to remind parents which channels we use, when and for what purpose. My caveat to the following explanation is that there will also be some necessary variations to this, in response to the scope and scale differences between our programs.
College App: Our Clayfield College community source of truth. Here you will find schedules, key dates, and a whole range of other programme information.
The app is also used as a notification tool. It is used to draw attention to updated programme information, to advise of wet weather scheduling changes or to advise parents around inbound transport arrangements (e.g., bus delays).
Social media: The School maintains a CC Sport co-curricular social media presence on Instagram and Facebook which we use to showcase significant achievements of those within the extended CC Sport community, as they relate to co-curricular sporting pursuits.
For students, there are a suite of other communications tools used to keep them informed and engaged. These include face-to-face meetings, Teams messaging and meetings and school-wide daily bulletins. All of these are in addition to the above channels.
We are constantly looking to improve our communications and we appreciate your support by accessing the channels relevant to your child’s co-curricular sporting involvement.
CC Sport may assist you, should you require further clarity on anything.
We look forward to a busy, exciting, and rewarding Term 2.
