I trust you have enjoyed some time over the Easter break to rest, reconnect and recharge. I found it a wonderful chance to pause and reflect on the year to date. During last term I appreciated the opportunity following the launch of the Strategic Intent to engage with families through a series of Community Conversations. One key piece of feedback and a common theme from these Community Conversations was the value of co-educational learning in the Secondary School. I am pleased to share that the introduction of parallel learning in Year 7 has been a positive one and I appreciate your support as we navigate this new era in the College’s history.
On Monday we look forward to welcoming 5 new students to the College. Enrolment interest has been continuing to grow and the registrations for our Principal-led and Head of Primary-led Tours scheduled for early May are almost at capacity. Many of these enrolments have been a result of word of mouth and I thank you for sharing your positive stories about our wonderful school and ‘letting our light shine’ with your friends, family and colleagues.
As we now turn our focus to Term 2, I look forward to what the next nine weeks will hold. Amongst many other events, we will be holding our Interhouse Cross Country and QGSSSA Cross Country Championships, the commencement of our Opus Concerts, Mother’s Day Breakfast, our inaugural Arts Day, Year 11 Soiree and Foundation Annual Giving Day Appeal. It will be another action packed term!
Our Boarder Marketing 2023 Regional Tours will be launched with a visit to Goondiwindi and St George from 27th – 30th April. Mrs Searle and I also look forward to attending the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association State Conference later in the term. A full list of the locations and dates of the tours are below. A family event will be held at each of these locations and we look forward to connecting with our regional and remote families. In addition to the Regional Tours outlined below we are also delighted to have the opportunity to connect with the international Clayfield community when we visit Japan during May.
As I mentioned at the end of last term, the campus has been a flurry of activity over the break with a number of capital works underway and completed. These have included:
This term Ms Rebecca Ayache will be joining us as Art Teacher while Ms Perrie Bourke is on Long Service Leave. Ms Ayache comes to us from Somerville House. Mrs Mary Matter will also be with us for 5 weeks as Pre Prep Teacher Aide while Mrs Kerri Panaretos is on leave. Ms Leeta Austin commences on 1st May as EALD Teacher, in a part-time capacity.
I hope you enjoy the last few days of the break and I look forward to welcoming you back on campus on Monday.
Kind regards
