Responsibility

Inquiring into our World this Term

Each term, teachers plan engaging learning experiences that are designed to deepen student's understanding of the world and their place in it. At St Mary’s, we do this through Inquiry. Inquiry is a dynamic and interactive process involving questioning, designing, investigating, experimenting, analyzing, reflecting and acting.

The Spiral of Inquiry assists us in engaging students in an inquiry-oriented, evidence-based approach to learning. It focuses on high-quality learning opportunities for all students.

The Spiral of Inquiry has six key stages: scanning, focusing, developing a hunch, new professional learning, taking action and checking that a big enough difference has been made.

This term, all of our communities are inquiring into the concept of Responsibility. Teachers have designed big questions to engage students in an inquiry that will support them in exploring the concept of Responsibility at their level and deepen their understanding of their community theme. Below are each community theme and the big question students will be inquiring about this term.
