EXTENDED LIBRARY OPENING HOURS  

This week the library has commenced extended opening hours. 

 

From this week the library opening hours are as follows:

Monday - Thursday 8:15am - 5:30pm.

Friday 8:15am - 4:30pm.

 

The library continues to be open at lunchtime for students but closed during recess. 

MOST BORROWED BOOKS

The 2019 Civica Libraries Index reveals the most borrowed books from libraries across Australia and New Zealand. The survey which gathers data from regional and metropolitan libraries reveals interesting insights into current reading habits.

 

The number one most borrowed fiction title was The Midnight Line by Lee Child.

 

Many of the most popular books are those that are headed for screen production. From the top 20 titles, three are Australian with big screen or streamed tie-ins.

#18 Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty 

 

#20 Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

 

According to the index, Tim Winton topped the Australian authors with his novel The Shepherd's Hut.

 

Australian children's author Andy Griffith dominates the top titles borrowed by juniors along with Jeff Kinney, American cartoonist and author of the Wimpy Kid series.

 

In the category of Young Adult Fiction the top 10 featured:

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Divergent by Veronica Roth

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Wonder by RJ Palacio.
