Interact Trivia Night 

On Friday 24 August Interact hosted their annual trivia night. It was a hugely successful night, and after raiding  tables and chairs from our  classrooms, we managed to squeeze over 200 people into the Senior Centre; a record for any Interact trivia night. The room was decorated beautifully with lots of fairy lights and there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the whole night. The Interactors spent hours in the lead up, getting everything ready for the night. Despite all this, the unpredictable failure of a microphone cord, couldn’t be prevented. However, the Interact team quickly overcame this (with the help of a teacher or parent, or two), and the night went smoothly from there on in.

Through ticket sales, silent auction, food sales, raffle, a mini game, and the sale of answers, we were able to raise over $4100 for Umoja. The SRC free dress day last term also raised money for the same charity, and combined we have raised over $6500. This money will go towards providing young people in Tanzania with an education.

All of the Interactors should be incredibly proud of their tremendous efforts, and I would like to say a massive thank you to all of them, as well as everyone else who helped in any way in the lead up to, or during the night. Without your efforts, such a fantastic night would never have gone ahead.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the businesses and families that donated goods for this event. Their generousity plays an important role in helping us help those less fortunate.
