At TEM we place a high value on inclusion, we're proud that we've been able to stay connected with our members during the restriction period, and the signs are positive for healthy numbers as we look forward to resuming playing and social activities.

We're very aware that mental health awareness is a critical issue and we want to be in the best position possible to get conversations started when we are able to be face to face again, and hopefully to be of help during times of restricted activity.

Headspace Hawthorn provides mental health services to young people aged 12-25 that are welcoming, safe, culturally appropriate and inclusive. Lily Bourke, Community Engagement Officer at Headspace Hawthorn, has kindly agreed to come and share her knowledge with us, and we're super excited that she can help us get conversations started!

Link details are being posted on Men's and Women's facebook groups, and the Club's facebook page. All are welcome, we're keen to get a strong presence, it will enable us to gauge just how we're travelling and how we can help.

Anyone who has an interest in joining in, or has ideas or suggestions to offer, just email me at adudley@bigpond.net.au or call 0414 264138. We'll keep everyone posted with outcomes and next steps.

[Background note:  Jenny Eager and myself have been participating in a Boroondara and Manningham Council sports club program on Inclusion and Diversity over the last six months. We’ve covered issues such as social media, mental health, inclusion, diversity, and club governance in a series of face to face and online workshops. The main outcome will be the development of an Inclusion Plan. Access Health, Proud 2 Play and Headspace Hawthorn are just a few of the amazing organisations that have contributed.]
