Goodbye to Victor

On 5 July, Victor Romagosa moved back to Spain together with wife Sarah and kids Santi and Freya after 14 years in Australia.  We're guessing life is pretty busy right now as they settle in!

Next month we're hoping to bring you a Q&A from Victor himself. In the meantime, here is a snapshot of his time with us.

At the end of the 2013 season, the Club identified a pressing need to build some consistency across the mens, womens and junior sections to help us become the Club we wanted to be - competitive, inclusive and fun. The position of Coaching Director was created and Victor came on board for six years from 2014-2019.

Victor's legacy includes a passion for junior recruitment and development, helping junior players make the transition to senior hockey, and working with young coaches in charge of junior teams.

At the senior level Victor supported the coaching staff in the development of pre season and training programs, his relationships with other clubs was enormously valuable and his knowledge and connections within the international player scene was unparalleled.

Victor was farewelled at a small dinner at the end of June, and during the break in restrictions he came to training sessions to catch up with players and families one last time.

It's fair to say, Victor has had a significant impact across the Club and we will miss his infectious personality.  TEM will benefit from his contribution for years to come.

He assures us that although there's not much activity on @romagosavictor yet, he will try hard to improve his Instagram presence so we can all keep in touch!
