WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience is the short term placement of secondary school students in the workplace for one week and is undertaken by all Year 10 students this year. Employers provide insights into the industry and the workplace in which they are located and provide students the opportunity to:
- develop employability skills
- explore possible career options
- understand employer expectations
- increase their self-understanding, maturity, independence and self-confidence.
All Year 10 students must have their Work Experience Arrangement Form completed by the employer and a parent/guardian prior to submission. These forms should be handed in to the Careers Room by the end of Term 1. In addition, students must also complete the Occupational Health and Safety Modules online.
Occupational Health and Safety
Prior to commencing work experience, students must satisfactorily complete occupational health and safety (OHS) training (safe@work). All Certificates achieved must be printed and submitted to the Careers Room prior to the end of the semester.
