Important Traffic Changes for the Brisbane Street Campus

Dear Parents,
Following consultation with Tamworth Regional Council, Calrossy has been requested to inform parents of changes to dropping off and collecting students from the Brisbane Street campus.
From the start of Term 4, the driveway on Brisbane Street will be closed from 8.00am – 9.00am and 2.30pm – 4pm. This is to promote improved traffic flow in Brisbane Street and prevent the traffic blockages that have been an ongoing problem during these busy periods. The Brisbane Street driveway will be open outside these times.
An alternate drop-off and collection zone has been designated on Raglan Street, where the signage has been changed by the Council to allow this. The school side of Raglan Street has three new zones, as indicated by the signs;
• No Parking – parents may stop for a short time to drop off & collect students, then safely move on. Drivers must remain near their cars.
• No Stopping – drop-offs and pick-ups are not permitted at all in this zone.
• Bus Zones – strictly for buses only, both public and school-owned
One implication of the change is that students who drive to school will be unable to park on the school side of Raglan Street.
Boarder parents will be permitted to drop off/collect bags and other heavy items via the Bourke Street gate and turning circle beside the hall.
The Council have indicated that Parking Police will enforce the new zones.
Whilst these changes may take some adjustment, the intention is for improved traffic flow in Brisbane Street, promoting safety and the smooth collection and drop-off of students. Please refer to the supporting information attached from Tamworth Regional Council and be in contact with us if you have any concerns.
Kind regards,
David Smith, Principal
