NAPLAN ASSESSMENT

NAPLAN testing will be conducted between Tuesday 10th May and Friday 20th May at our college for students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9. Most of the testing will occur in the first week (Tuesday 10th May to Friday 13th May.) The second week of testing will be catch up tests only.

This year our college is moving to online testing. Except for Year 3 Writing tests, all testing will be conducted online via a computer or tablet.

Last term students completed practice tests to familiarise themselves with the online testing.

Year 3 and 5 students will be using their Chromebooks to complete the tests. Year 7 and 9 students will either use their own device or borrow a device from the school for the testing.

Online testing provides more precise measurements of your child’s ability as the online environment will adapt to your child’s responses. Therefore, students in the class will possibly be presented with a different set of questions than their classmates based upon their previous answers.

Year 3 Writing test will remain a pen and paper test. All other Year 3 tests will be online.

Some of the online testing requires the use of a set of headphones. Students should have their own set of headphones for the NAPLAN testing. The college discourages the sharing of headphones at this time.
