Hands-up if you have ever muttered the words “Maths is hard” or “I was never good at maths”.
Numeracy capability is not inherited but attitudes are contagious
As parents, you play a significant role in your child’s learning and development. Helping children to become numerate does not need a high level of mathematics knowledge but the right attitude to approach each new learning activity. Helping them to navigate the mathematics they encounter in their everyday world is the role of everyone.
The Math Faculty would like to support you in as many ways as possible in helping your student navigate the world mathematically – Let us teach them the intricate skills - we ask you for your support with the everyday Numeracy of their world “Math Matters” will be a series of hints, tricks and strategies that will focus on providing you as a parent, ways to help build your child’s numeracy. Your child’s teachers and wider school community look forward to working with you and together we can build confidence in our students’ ability to use Math.
