Assistant Principal's Report

Miss Carly Epskamp

Welcome to Term Two. On behalf of all DPS staff, we hope you enjoyed the holidays and had a great Easter with your family. Many families were able to get away on a family holiday, whilst others did day trips and had lots of opportunities to relax and unwind. Whatever you did, we hope it was enjoyable!

Classroom Visits

I have already visited most classes this term and noticed so many students who are excited to be back at school, back into their routine and extremely focused on their learning. Well done to our students who have settled into Term Two seamlessly.

Easter Celebration

Last term, we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Easter Bunny who handed out Easter eggs to all of the students. A huge thank you to school council member Nadiah Smith for sourcing and donating the Easter eggs, they were delicious.

The Rotary Anzac Day Ceremony

David Chua the Community Director of the Rotary Club of Templestowe and President Luke Bastian extended an invitation for our School Captains to participate in the annual School ANZAC Service. As I write this report, I am excited to attend and see the laying of the wreaths and hear from the Mayor of Manningham throughout the service. Our captains Lexie, Isobel, Weihan and Joshua are enthusiastic about attending the service and looking forward to laying a wreath on behalf of Doncaster Primary School.

We also have a beautiful Anzac Day display in the School Office that was put together by our Level 5 and 6 students. They showed great respect, maturity and understanding whilst putting this together.

CAREnet Mobile Food Pantry

Next week, we will once again receive several shopping bags full of groceries to give to some of our DPS families. These are regularly donated by the CAREnet mobile Food Pantry.  If you would benefit from a shopping bag full of groceries, you can request one at the school office or you can pick groceries up from CAREnet  at 8 Montgomery Street Doncaster. It is all free and there are no referrals needed.

Level 6 Camp

Wishing our Level Six students and teachers an amazing time away in Canberra. I can't wait to hear all about the adventures you have each day and I'm sure the teachers will send me lots of photos, which I will share with our community via Compass.

Happy Mother's Day

As there will not be a newsletter before next weekend, I hope all of our DPS mothers and motherly figures have a wonderful day and get very spoilt with lots of love, hugs and kisses from their children. Enjoy!
