Specialist News

Term 1 Week 2

Feature News - Visual Arts

The specialist team enjoyed another productive and fun week of classes across the school. Students across the Junior and Senior school have continued to demonstrate zest, teamwork and leadership skills when adjusting back to their routines and approaching new tasks with perseverance and curiosity.

In Visual Arts,  Junior classes demonstrated their fine motor skills through ripping and folding in their Lunar New Year inspired artwork, such as 'lucky coins' and lanterns. It was wonderful to see students using their creativity and perseverance when completing their art! In the Senior school, students challenged themselves to create collages using coloured paper and magazine cut outs. Year 3 and 4 used a range of colours to complete a collage template, whilst Year 5 and 6 created a tiger using a range of warm and cool colours, selected from magazines.

Inspiring our Community

Each week, we will offer opportunities for our community to be inspired. It may consist of staff/students being interviewed, outside community association information or fun activities to try at home. We aim to connect and inspire our community, promote positive lifestyles and provide information to connect with our community.

Mrs Gill's Wellbeing Story

Favourite song at the moment - I have too many favourites! But if I had to choose just one, I would say 'Cold Heart' - by Elton John and Dua Lipa!

Favourite physical activity - I love staying active! Last year I joined a local Netball Group, where I play mixed netball every week. When I'm not playing netball, I'm usually practicing traditional Indonesian dancing or going for walks around my local park.

Favourite down time activity - I love painting with water colours - last week I tried to paint a turtle...but it looked a bit more like a green rock! I also love cooking and reading books on the couch with my two cats! They keep me company while I read to calm down!

Favourite quote -"Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain".

Sampai Jumpa friends,

Physical Education Update - Swimming Program

Due to the current challenges and government regulations we are facing, leadership have made the decision to not attend the District Swimming event this Term. It is a disappointing result, however with the number of schools that will be attending, the safety and wellbeing of our community is our main priority at present.

Our students will not miss out on swimming, as we will be running the intensive swimming program during Term 3, which will follow on to our annual Swimming carnival which will take place later this year in November. The swimming program is a highlight with our students and staff, and will be an exciting event to look forward to later in the year.
