Principal's Report

What a Year!
As we come to the close of the 2021 school year it would be easy to say 'Thank goodness that's over!', and while we are all looking forward to a well-deserved break from school life for a little while, this year has been filled with things to celebrate.
Over 2021 we have seen such growth in student learning and they have all achieved great things. It was also wonderful to see the Sensory Graden completed this year and to have so many students use it not only during recess and lunch but also as a fantastic learning space.
I have written to families about our staff who are leaving this year, we wish them all the very best of luck at their new schools, or in the break they are taking from their regular classroom roles. 2022 will be an exciting year at Marlborough!
On Monday night we held our Year 6 Graduation ceremony and celebrations. It was an evening full of reflecting on the past 7 years and providing our graduating class with a very fitting send-off into the next chapter of their journey. It is such a special moment for our families to support their children through this transition as they move on to High School. We know that they are all ready for this next challenge and hope to see their smiling faces at some point in the future.
Final Assembly
Our final assembly will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, December 17th in our undercover area. This will be a combination of our Awards Ceremony and our Year 6 Leaver's Assembly. We welcome all members of our community to attend, and we will be adhering to the Victorian Government's guidelines around checking in and attendees being fully vaccinated.
2022 Starting Date
School Council have approved the following Curriculum Days for next year. No students are required at school, please contact Camp Australia to book in for care on these dates.
- January 28th & January 31st (the first two days back which we use as a school to be prepared for the start of the year)
- August 26th
- December 5th
Please mark these dates down in your diary as they are pupil free days. Camp Australia will offer child care on these dates.
Happy Holidays
Finally, I would like to thank our staff who have worked tirelessly over the past year in support of all students and each other. 2021 was another year full of challenges and I am very proud of how our staff have once supported our students, community and each other throughout these challenges.
I hope everyone is able to unwind over the Summer Holiday and take some sort of a break. My family and I are heading to Lakes Entrance for a week again, enjoying a bit of fun in the sun.
I look forward to seeing everyone back at school on February 1st next year.
