Early Years Athletics

Students from Kinder to Year 2 had a fantastic morning at the Early Years Athletics Carnival last Friday. After postponing the event from a cold and wet day, we were blessed with a beautiful morning for racing. The students did an amazing job in all their events; trying so hard, working together as a team, and cheering their house team mates.

Thanks to the Year 6 House Captains that helped run the field events and awarded stickers and ribbons, and to all the parents and spectators that came along to support the children.

Tennis Grand Final

Last Tuesday the Year 7 tennis team competed in the SSATIS Year 7/8 Girls Grand Final at the Domain Tennis Centre against The Friends School. Zali Elliott started the team off well with a 6-0 win in the opening singles game, and teamed up with Freya Barwick to win their doubles game 6-0. The team were eventually defeated, but were pleased with their effort on making the Grand Final of a ten team Year 7/8 roster.

To advance to the grand final, the team secured wins against Fahan Year 7, Collegiate, Fahan White and Mackillop College. The team, including Zali, Freya, Ash Ryan and Ziva Moshovakos, all performed consistently well in both singles and double matches, and improved as the season progressed. Special thanks to Miss Ella Anderson who coached the team.
