What an amazing year it has been! Congratulations to students, parents and staff for another successful and memorable year!
As I reflect on the year there were so many amazing moments that spring to mind. There were the many carnivals, liturgies, assemblies, excursions and camps but I think the one moment that stood out the most for me was our Mini Fair to celebrate Mount Carmel Day. Seeing all the students working together for the greater good of others and the excitement that filled the air was definitely a ‘magic’ moment.
As I write my last entry in The View, I write it with mixed emotions. I am so grateful for the opportunity that came my way at the beginning of the year to be asked to join this amazing school community but I now also feel a little sad that my time here could not have lasted longer. Sometimes life throws things at us to challenge and to also question the path we are on. This was true for me at the beginning of this year when I followed my heart and accepted the position of Acting Director of Primary at Mount Carmel College. Now at the start of another new year, I will be taking up the position of Acting Deputy Principal at John Paul II Catholic School, a new journey that I am super excited about. I remember arriving on my first day and being filled with the emotions of being overwhelmed and nervous but also excited for the new adventure and challenges that lay ahead of me. Mount Carmel College has not disappointed and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this beautiful school community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made my journey here so special.
I would especially like to thank all the Primary teaching staff and Teacher Aides who have tirelessly worked throughout the year for the betterment of our students. Your enthusiasm, dedication and genuine care for your students has not gone unnoticed. The College is so lucky to have you.
After many years working within a school environment you quickly learn that a school doesn’t just run itself. It is the students, staff and parents who work together to create the ‘magic’ of the community and Mount Carmel certainly has an amazing community and ‘magic’ to be proud of. I am so thankful that I said yes to this path even if it was only for a short time.
A big thank you to everyone for your part in my journey and I wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas and a beautiful New Year.
The blessings of peace,
the beauty of hope,
the spirit of love,
the comfort of faith.
May this be your gifts this Christmas season.
