Little Desert Primary Swimming

On Thursday 5th March Levi Linto, Layla Linto and Ruby Caldow represented the school in the Little Desert & Black Ranges Division Swimming. All three swam their hearts out and represented the College with high class and honour. At the end of the day all three came away with a ribbon either from their individual events or from their relay teams (where we were able to team up with Balmoral K-12 College and St Malachy’s). This was a great experience for the young swimmers and I hope they continue to work hard on their technique to continue representing the school once they reach secondary.

Ruby Caldow - 2nd in 11yr Girls 50m Back Finals

Levi Linto - 3rd in 9-10 yr 50m Freestyle Finals

Combined relay teams consisting of Edenhope, Balmoral & St Malachy’s students in the 9-10 and 11 yr Freestyle relay both placed 3rd.

Little Desert Secondary Swimming

This year’s Little Desert senior swimming was held at the Horsham Aquatic Centre on Tuesday March 3. We had five students represent  our school, Danika, Imogen & Mattea Hollis, as well as Buzz & Jaali Brennan. Congratulations to all our competitors who came home with ribbons and Buzz won the overall aggregate total for the day.

The day was run very professionally with every lane being timed 4 times and the winning swimmer was actually timed 5 times to make sure the scores were accurate. Our students were great ambassadors for our school and their efforts were rewarded.

Jaali - 1st in 15 yr Boys 50m Back Finals, 2nd in 50m Breast Finals

Buzz - 1st in 12-13yr old Boys 50m Breast, Free & Back Finals - Little Desert Overall Male Champion

Danika Hollis - 3rd in 17yr old Girls 50m Breast & Back Finals

Mattea Hollis - 3rd in 12-13yr old Girls 50 Butterfly, Free, Back Finals and 4th in Breast Finals

Edenhope College combined with students from Balmoral to enter the relays - the 14 year old Boys cam 1st in the Freestyle Relay as did the 17 year old girls.

Interschool Tennis

On Wednesday 3rd March, myself and Jaali Brennan teamed up with Balmoral K-12 College to compete at Ballarat in the Greater Western Region competition. I was successful in winning 2 out of 4 single matches and I won 1 out of 3 double matches. It was a very long day as we left Edenhope at 7am and didn’t arrive back until 7pm. I am very thankful for the opportunity to attend the day as it was great to play against more experienced players.

Kowree Primary Swimming Sports - Goroke

On Wednesday March 11, 15 Primary school students went to Goroke to compete in the Kowree Primary Swimming Competition. It was a great day with all the competitors having a go and with several of the swimmers out of their comfort zone, especially in the Medley events. The Edenhope College students behaved and performed admirably throughout the day and a great rapport was had with our neighbouring schools. We came 3rd out of 6 teams in the overall standings and 4th on handicap, which is a great effort for 2020. A huge thanks to Edwina Price for driving the students and Mr Irvin to and from the event.
