Senior School Happenings
The term is certainly flying by and all our senior students have been hard at work, getting in and completing the tasks that have been required of them. The last few weeks of term are always particularly busy with assessments, but it has been great to see the students pushing themselves to achieve as highly as possible, day after day. Well done team!
We are just about all set to go for the Years 11 and 12 camp in the last week of the term. We have an action-packed schedule for our time in Adelaide and all the students attending are looking forward to seeing what this beautiful city has to offer. We will be maximising our time there by going to multiple universities, accommodation facilities and businesses, as well as experiencing new and different learnings through visiting places such as the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Museum of South Australia and the South Australian State Library, just to name a few. Obviously, if the advice we are given about health and safety changes in any way, we will advise parents immediately and make alternative arrangements, but at this stage we are ready and excited to go.
Over the holiday break, the Year 12 VCE students will definitely be given work to complete by their teachers, so that they keep their studies ticking over during their non-contact time from school. Other classes and/or individual students may be given work to complete also. We encourage all students to set aside the necessary time to consolidate their learning and complete the tasks required, so that they are ready for the challenges that Term Two will bring and are not behind with their work from the start.
I look forward to seeing our senior students competing and/or cheering for their houses at the upcoming Athletics Carnival, in order for them to show their commitment to being part of the school community.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to make contact with me at school.

We have been working hard in ‘Where in the World?’ to increase our knowledge of Asian countries over the last few weeks – where they are, what their capital cities are and what sets them apart from other countries. We have looked at a number of countries in-depth, as well as increased our understanding overall of the enormity of Asia and fascinating things to note about it.
- Can you name the capital cities for at least 10 Asian countries?
We are currently busy working on learning more about a self-chosen Asian country and diligently putting together information about it for our assessment, in order to inform and educate others.
On Thursday 5th March, we were privileged to have Mr Iqbal (Maths/STEAM teacher at school) come and talk to the class about his home country of Bangladesh. He gave a very insightful and informative presentation to the students to increase their knowledge of the country and its people, the resources, attractions and what makes it unique. It is somewhere that a number of students would definitely like to visit now – if they didn’t before! Thank you Mr Iqbal for sharing his knowledge with the class.

VCE Physical Education - Units 3 & 4
During Unit 3 & 4 Physical Education the four students have been learning about movement skills and how they can be improved. During their very few practical lessons the four students have taken on board their theory content and demonstrated how it can be performed in the practical setting. They did this through throwing an egg and using soft hands with a follow through to not let it break and demonstrating their knowledge of newtons 3 laws in a practical sense.
Life Skills Elective
The Life Skills students cooked up a storm with their sausage roll canteen on Thursday March 12. They made and delivered over 180 sausage rolls to students and staff, learning valuable skills along the way!
