Year 1/2 Science - Lifecycle of a Plant

In Science we have been learning about the lifecycle of plants. Over the last few weeks we have watched our seeds germinate and grow into baby plants in our classroom. This week during Agriculture we weeded and turned the garden bed to get it ready for planting. We had lots of fun planting and watering our baby plants and we’re looking forward to watching them grow and flower.

Year 1/2 Reading

Our Reading focus this term is ‘read to self’ in which students have the opportunity to sit quietly and immerse themselves in a book, using the strategies they have learned to make sense of the story.

3 /4 Class

During their Agriculture class, the 3 /4 students have planted out the herbs and vegetables that they have grown from seed in the lower primary veggies patch.

5 /6 Class

The last two weeks in Year 5/6 have been very busy with Swimming Carnival, writing challenges, Steam and Geography activities.

In Geography the students have been busy researching Asian countries and  exploring and discussing the world issues from Behind The News (BTN). We have also been completing a variety of writing challenges using the website Pobble365, which has a different image every day to inspire creative writing.

In Steam we are continuing some very creative designs and constructions with Mr Iqbal, the latest being a revolving spinner!

Our Novel Study with Mrs Hausler is very entertaining as once a week we are transported to an 1850s classroom and call the teachers Maam and Sir and stand up when a gentleman enters the room.
