Swimming

We are currently in the second week of our swimming program for our Foundation, Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 classes. These programs not only support positive learning experiences for the students in developing swimming skills and techniques alongside their peers, but also provides the opportunities for our students to develop their skills around independence and organisation in readiness for each swimming session. A big thank you to our families for supporting the program and encouraging our children to be ready and organised each week.

Wacky Instruments Performances

The Blue Hall was bursting at the seams on Monday and Tuesday of this week with wacky instruments, inspired musicians, talented teachers and an engaged community audience! A big thank you to Miss Manson and the wildly entertaining and talented Jon Madin for providing our students and families with an opportunity to experience the joy and creativity that music can provide. A sensational celebration for all involved!

Congratulations

We have recently received notification that William Harris – Year 6 (a member of the 5th Ballarat Cub Pack), has achieved the impressive award of Grey Wolf. William has attained this award through the demonstration of initiative and sustaining focus and effort in facing challenges over many months. His leadership, teamwork and self-discipline are key traits that have supported his personal achievement and this success has been recognised and celebrated by the Scouting community. With over 47 million Scouting members worldwide, and only a small percentage achieving the Grey Wolf, we would like to congratulate William and acknowledge his outstanding efforts in achieving this important award.

Did you know?

The best activity to improve writing is reading. If your child reads quality books, they will be a better writer. Reading exposes students to general vocabulary, word study and technical vocabulary. Through reading, students see a variety of authors’ techniques that they can use in their own writing. Reading books, and talking about books, also teaches children thousands of words, enhancing their vocabulary and increasing their potential as a reader and a writer.
