School Captains 2020
What’s in store for the future?
I am passionate about the environment and believe that in order to survive and have a future worth living, we have to change something in our lifestyle to reduce our waste and carbon emissions. After completing my VCE studies, I want to study Data Science at Melbourne University, and work in Artificial Intelligence and Automation. The advancement of technology in these fields will allow us to make faster and smarter computers which are able to do dangerous and menial tasks that humans cannot; for example, doing complex calculations with faster super computers, or building colonies on the surface of other planets in our Universe -- maybe Mars. I hope to contribute my knowledge of math and statistics to solving the climate emergency, and other world problems. I am a believer and advocate of resolving world issues through education. And as a result, envision that other environmental crises will begin to self-correct. As 2020 College Captain at Mornington Secondary College, I hope to build my capacity as a leader by working closely with the school’s teachers, staff, and students to enrich our educational environment to one where students care about their learning, their future, and their impact on the future.

What does the future hold?
I am passionate about helping people to reduce suffering when they are sick or injured, and offer the best care possible. Naturally, I envision that in the future I will be working in the medical field. I wish to be a nurse and care for children and hopefully one day become a Paediatric doctor. As I was growing up, I had many health issues, this meant I was constantly in and out of the doctor’s offices with multiple hospital trips. This experience allowed me to know what I want to do in the future and that is to help people in the same way I was helped when I was sick. Once I get my qualifications I would like to extend my compassion and expertise in Indonesian, volunteering as I have studied Indonesian at Mornington Secondary College. Being College Captain in 2020 will allow me the opportunity to enhance my communication skills and build my capacity as a leader which I will apply confidently to whatever the future brings. I want to make a difference in my school and local community by continuing my volunteering role on weekends patrolling beaches and as a coach in the starfish nipper program. In addition, I look to the future with a vision to help others and contributing to the practice of medicine.
