"Book Reviews" in F15

The Year 6s in F15 have been very busy writing book reviews on their favourite novels this term! The learning intention for this task was to write a detailed book review using the correct text structure and language features, with a focus on their learning goal. Students discussed the use of positive and negative judgment words when reviewing texts and the elements that make a front cover and blurb effective and eye-catching for readers.  Students wrote a book review about their favourite novel, designed a new front cover, constructed a new blurb for the text and created an illustration based on their favourite character, setting or event. Students received teacher and peer feedback on their drafts and set a learning goal to work on for their final draft.
