Sports Day

Wednesday 21st September

Preparations for Sports Day on Wednesday 21st September are in full swing. This year, we welcome back parents and friends after a 2 year absence.

Whilst this is great news, we do have some rules for family members to follow on the day to ensure a safe and successful day for everyone.

Physical distancing of 1.5m is still recommended and please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

Most importantly, students are under the care and responsibility of their teacher whilst at school and we ask that parents and caregivers support class teachers by not calling their children away from the group.

During all events, parents and caregivers should:

  • Cheer and encourage all students to try their best but not interfere in events unless the teacher requests help
  • Not provide food or snacks to children outside of designated break times
  • Ensure that they are out of the way of play areas/ playgrounds during recess and lunch breaks. Also making sure that non-Magill students and toddlers do not play on the school playgrounds.
  • Not enter classrooms or buildings except when accessing designated visitor toilets located in the OSHC or Murray buildings.

At the conclusion of Sports Day, all classes will return to class to pack up for the day. Children will be dismissed from their usual spot at 3:05pm.

There is always a possibility that the weather may force us to reschedule Sports Day. If this is the case, we will notify families the day prior.

The canteen is running a limited menu on the day which must be pre ordered by Monday 10am . There will be a limited amount of food available on the day and some snacks, drinks and ice-creams.

Mr Barista will be operating on Magill Road for coffee, hot drinks throughout the day.
