Farewell Sam!

Sam Bartsch, our Director, has accepted a position as Director of Goodwood Community Child Care Centre and will be leaving our service on 23 September. Her last day will be next Wednesday.  

On behalf of the School Governing Council and Community we would like to thank Sam for her leadership over the last two years. She has been able to lead significant improvements to our service: 

• Mentoring staff and building the capacity of the leadership team and Educators 
• Establishing and maintaining quality relationships with children, families and staff 
• Employing a chef to plan, prepare and serve nutritious and appetising foods, 
• Creating an inclusive culture where all students can access quality programs, and 
• Establishing clear processes and expectations for quality care in our service. 

We take this opportunity to wish her all the very best in her new role. 

Market Week at OSHC

For Market Week at OSHC the students painted a small canvas each to sell. The Reception to year 2 students spent time planning, drawing and painting their canvas. On Wednesday and Thursday afternoons during Market Week stalls were set up where students could showcase their artwork and sell it. Some students loved their artwork so much they decided to take them home instead of selling it. Any money raised from selling the canvas will be donated to a charity.

The last two weeks the middle primary group have been celebrating friendships and preparing for the market days. When the children arrive and sit down to eat, the Educators talk with the children about their day and any activities we will be doing. With market week, children started to create ideas for their side show themed experiences for market day. Sometimes we also surprise the group like we did on Tuesday this week, with a spontaneous scavenger hunt which was a lot of fun.

Vacation Care & Student Free Days: 7:30am - 6:00pm
