From the Principal
Week 8 Term 3 2022
Dear Parents and Carers
Learning can take different forms. Many experts believe that children learn in 7 different forms. I have listed them below.
Visual (Spatial)
Aural (Auditory-Musical)
Verbal (Linguistic)
Physical (Kinesthetic)
Logical (Mathematical)
Social (Interpersonal)
Solitary (Intrapersonal)
It is important to mix classroom learning experiences with extra curricular activities (swimming, athletics, performance, music etc). These opportunities allow for children to experience all of the 7 forms of learning and grow as a learner. We want our students at St Bede's to be the best learners they can be!!!!
Athletics
Despite the rain finally arriving at 12.30pm on Monday the athletics carnival was a great day!!! All the children participated in a variety of track and field events. I was lucky enough to spend the first activity with the Preps and you could not remove the smile from their faces, they were that excited!!! This is the first opportunity for our Preps, Year 1 and Year 2s to experience an athletics day.
A huge thank you to Richard Price for organising the day, the staff and the parent volunteers who assisted on the day. The Athletics team has been selected from the day. Mr Price will inform all students who have been selected to represent St Bede's next week at the District Athletics Carnival.
Fathers Day Breakfast
I was finally able to experience my first Father's Day breakfast at St Bede's. It was wonderful to see the fathers and their children enjoying a filling pancake breakfast along with coffee, hot chocolate and a variety of juices. Thank you to the PA and especially Ange and Viv for organising the event and arriving at school a long time before the sun rose!!!!
The hall was full of laughter and chatter. A wonderful social event.
Pupil Free Day
Just a reminder that Monday the 5th September is a pupil free day. The staff are undertaking professional learning around Positive Behaviours. This will be conducted by Roland Wans from MACs
Concert/Performance
Tickets for our whole school performance went on sale earlier this week. Please refer to the flyer on how to purchase tickets. Currently we have limited the ticket sales to 4 per family. Once all families have had the opportunity to purchase tickets there will be an opportunity for families to purchase more. We will let you know when this will be available.
Please watch out for emails from your child's classroom teacher for regarding costumes etc.
Father's Day
To all the dads in our community, we wish you all a wonderful Father's Day on Sunday. I hope it is a great day for all!! I know your children will spoil you and not expect anything from you on the day!!!
Have a great week
Brian
